About
Hey, I’m Sydney (Syd).
I work in my pretty little garden studio just outside Bristol where I live with my gorgeous little family.
I spent a long time trying to bring my various life experiences & topics I’m passionate about in to my artwork with a desire for it to somehow help others going through challenges. It started to feel too heavy.
Then I realised what I value most of all about creating art. That realisation changed it all for me. My favourite part about making art is connecting with others & creating something that will make someone smile. Plus, the thought of my artwork hanging proudly in someone’s home where they can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it is pretty dam cool. That’s it really….it ain’t deep but I love it!
Sydney says “People and animals are my jam, they’re endlessly fascinating to me. As a Mum, I’m especially interested in the connections within the family unit, including the animals we live with. Although my style is real(ish), I love to disrupt and abstract various elements plus use unnatural colour choices. Colour is a very important part of my work… and my life outside of work also. Colour seems to really impact my mood. I’m always excited to try new colour combo’s in AND out of the studio.
My style has evolved a lot in the last year and I am so grateful to have found a way of working that feels so right for me- I can’t get enough of it!”
