Hi, I’m Sydney (Syd)

I am a portrait and figurative artist living and working in Saltford, just outside Bristol.

I love to use a multimedia approach to create my art but my coloured pencils remain a constant. I love to make my work a mixture of realism and abstract, it’s endlessly interesting to create and provides visual interest too.

In my portrait drawings I aim to capture a likeness, but capturing a part of the persons essence is far more important to me & it feels natural to use an unnatural colour pallet to enhance this sense of who they are inside. To give this sense of who someone is, is for me, what makes any portrait stand out.
